ABOUT LOPINA HOME THERAPY

Lopina Home Therapy was started in 2013 as a home health contracting company, in which a contract was made to provide therapy services with home health agencies.  After treating patients for various home health agencies and providing care in their homes, patients always wanted to know why we could not finish their care and why they had to go to out-patient therapy.  This is when we decided to change the purpose of Lopina Home Therapy.  After years of practicing in an out-patient clinic and years of providing home care services, why not combine them both and still be able to provide care conveniently and privately in their home?

When getting services from home health agencies you are required to be homebound, which means that you are only leaving home for short periods of time for physician appointments, haircuts, church, or short outings to the store.   Medicare Part A traditionally covers and pays for home care when you are homebound.  Once you become stronger and are no longer homebound you then typically transfer to out-patient therapy clinics which is then covered by Medicare Part B.  If you have a private insurance you will generally have limitations for home care and out-patient services.  Going to clinics can be an inconvenience for some because of transportation or small children and may take more time out of your day.  Lopina Home Therapy was developed to help improve continuity of care and make therapy more convenient for you, the patient.

Lopina Home Therapy is aware that treating a patient in their home on an out-patient basis is not the norm. This represents a shift from the traditional rehabilitation approach where out-patient services are provided at a clinic.   Lopina Home Therapy recognizes this.  Through our experience, successful outcomes are the result of patients applying what was taught in their therapy sessions to their everyday life.   What better way to learn how to apply such information as body mechanics, symptom response to activity and exercises than in the very environment you are going to need them in!  Lopina Home Therapy places more of an emphasis on the clinician's clinical reasoning skills and knowledge than on fancy exercise equipment.  It is our belief that the value of seeing a physical therapist is in their knowledge and expertise, and how well the therapist is able to teach the patient how to self-manage their symptoms.  Learning sustainability and how to maintain body mechanics and manage exercises and postures in your everyday life paves the path to success.  So allow Lopina Home Therapy to follow the path straight to your home, so we can provide the keys to your well-being and guarantee on-one-one care!

TRACI LOPINA, PT, CERT MDT

OWNER/PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Practicing since 2001 in out-patient facilities and 15 years in home health settings, I have worked for hospitals, private practices, corporate practice, and physician owned clinics.  I have received my MDT certification in 2010 from the McKenzie Institute for mechanical, diagnosis, and treatment for the neck, back, and extremities.   This method is one of the most highly researched methods in therapy practice today and offers a different philosophy and excellent outcomes for my patients.  This method gives the patient the primary role in self management of their symptoms.
